Looking for Ukrainian Ancestry
Friday, April 10th, 2009I am looking for any info on my ancestry. My father is Orest George Romanyk, B: Dec. 2, 1931 Toronto. His father was Yurko Romanyk B: June or Sep./6, 1900 in Juriw, Western Ukraine.Yurko was one of 9 brothers and sisters. Emigrated to Canada 1928. Greek Catholic. His mother is Levka (Eleanor) Chaikovsky [ Chajkowskyj or Czajkowskyj ] B: June or Sept. 6, 1904 in Staryi Sambir, Western Ukraine. One of 5 or 6 brothers and sisters Emigrated to Canada 1928. Greek Catholic. Orest was an only child, and I am an only child. My father and I would like to find out about our Ukrainian ancestry, and if there are any other relatives from our line.
